Professional CPD Training
CPD training for therapists, counsellors, practitioners and professionals supporting boys and young men.
Charles Flint Therapies offers professional training around boys, young men, masculinity, shame, anger, emotional development, relationships, online influence and therapeutic support.
The training is designed to be reflective, practical and professionally grounded.
It supports practitioners to think more carefully about what may sit beneath behaviour, withdrawal, anger, shame or silence, and how boys and young men can be supported in a way that is respectful, non-shaming and developmentally aware.
Who is this training for?
This CPD is designed for therapists, counsellors, coaches, youth practitioners, pastoral staff, safeguarding staff and other professionals supporting boys and young men.
It may be useful for professionals working in private practice, schools, colleges, universities, youth services, wellbeing teams or community settings.
The training is suitable for practitioners who want to think more carefully about masculinity, shame, anger, emotional development, online influence, relationships and help-seeking.
The aim is to support thoughtful, grounded and ethically aware practice.

Working therapeutically with boys and young men
The central CPD pathway is Working Therapeutically with Boys and Young Men: Masculinity, Shame, Anger and Emotional Development.
The training supports practitioners to think beyond behaviour and consider the emotional, relational, developmental and cultural pressures that can shape boys’ and young men’s experiences.
It explores how masculinity, shame, anger, silence, online influence, relationships and help-seeking can affect the way boys and young men present in therapy, education, youth work and support settings.
The aim is to support practice that is thoughtful, boundaried, non-shaming and developmentally aware.
CPD pathway options
The CPD pathway can be accessed at different levels, depending on the time available and the depth of training required.
Introductory CPD offers a brief reframe of boys, young men, masculinity, shame and emotional development.
Core CPD provides a more developed practice lens for professionals wanting to think more carefully about boys’ and young men’s presentations, relationships, emotional development and help-seeking.
Full-day CPD allows more time for integration, reflection, discussion and application to professional practice.
Each route is designed to be thoughtful, practical and professionally grounded.

What the training explores
The training explores the emotional, relational and developmental pressures that can shape how boys and young men present in therapy, education, youth work and support settings.
It considers masculinity, shame, anger, silence, online influence, relationships, boundaries, emotional development and help-seeking.
The focus is not on blaming boys or young men, but on understanding what may sit beneath behaviour and how professionals can respond with clarity, empathy, boundaries and professional responsibility.
The aim is to support practice that is reflective, grounded, non-shaming and practically useful.

Training for organisations and teams
CPD training can also be delivered for organisations and teams supporting boys and young men.
This may include schools, colleges, universities, youth services, counselling services, wellbeing teams, safeguarding teams and other professional settings.
The training can be adapted around the needs of the organisation, the role of the staff group and the context in which boys and young men are being supported.
Before delivery, the aims, format, group size and level of training can be discussed so that the session is useful, relevant and professionally appropriate.
